Shopping inside Norway

Let me just start with saying that shopping in Norway is a BAD idea. You should not visit this country with a filled wallet expecting to have something great to bring back, because you will spend most of your money on staying alive. The price level on food was 54% higher than the average price level in the EU (Norway is not a member of the EU) in 2009. No wonder the caravan travelers from other countries come with their mobile home filled to the brim with food to our country.

If you want to buy souvenirs from Norway there is not much to choose from. There is the knitted sweaters, troll figures, postcards, glass animals and other typical stuff that says where it’s from and has a picture of the flag, all of witch are very expensive. The troll figures are very Norwegian though, so if you should buy just one thing to bring home, find one of those.
