Our sports accomplishments are really sad, we win in sports that are hardly noticed in other countries. This is a list of currently active people that might have been noticed outside Norway.

Cecilia Brækhus: Boxing
Helene Olafsen: Snowboard
Marit Bjørgen: Skiing
Suzann Pettersen: Golf
Tora Berger: Biathlon

Aksel Lund Svindal: Downhill skiing
Andreas Thorkildsen: Spear throwing
Edvald Boasson Hagen: Cycling
Emil Hegle Svendsen: Biathlon
Håvard Bøkko: Speedskating
John Arne Riise: Soccer
John Carew: Soccer
Kurt Asle Arvesen: Cycling
Magnus Carlsen: Chess
Ola Vigen Hattestad: Cross country skiing
Ole Einar Bjørndalen: Biathlon
Patrick Thoresen: Ice Hockey
Petter Northug: Cross country skiing
Thor Hushovd: Cycling

We also have a great curling team for men, handball team for women (the men are not that bad either!)… and a really bad soccer team for men. The women are doing a lot better there.

Most kids are involved in some kind of sport at some time in their life, usually soccer, track and field, or handball. And everyone knows how to ski and use ice skates, that is part of school.
