Visiting Gjøvik

Gjøvik is a town with 27.500 inhabitants, located in the inlands of Norway, in Oppland county by the largest lake in Norway, Mjøsa. If you visit Gjøvik you may want to visit these attraction:

– Gjøvik gård, a museum and galleries in the heart of the city

– The world’s largest arena excavated in rock; The Gjøvik Olympic Hall (part of the 1994 winter Olympics in Lillehammer)

– Eiktunet cultural-history museum

– Gjøvik glassworks

– Take a trip on PS Skibladner on the lake Mjøsa (the largest in Norway) is the world’s oldest paddle steamer in scheduled service. Skibladner has it’s home in Gjøvik, in a large glass building on the shore.
